opening bank account

Can anyone recommend a sensible bank who will not charge my wife to open an account of her own-with a card etc. snachwest want £10 a month for their privelage acc!!! some privelage!! this account will be used for e-bay stuff .

    AFAIK most of banks have some free accounts. For example, I have accounts with Visa debit cards with Barclays, Nationwide, Cahoot and Smile that don't have any ties and don't cost me anything.

    Natwest do offer a non charging account. I have one with debit card and overdraft and no monthly fee.
