Securing my Hotmail account

I am concerned that someone may have gained access to my Hotmail account. I gave my ex-partner my password some time before we split up, and I know she used to read my messages at that time.
Now that I no longer want her to do this, is it enough to change my password? If she stays logged into the account, will she still be able to see my e-mails even if I change my password?
Thanks

Usually if you put in the wrong password you get a page comes up to answer questions they asked you when you set up Hotmail. Like your pets name ,your favourite colour . If your partner know all that they can get back into it again and change your password to something you dont know.
I would edit the personal information you put onto Hotmail in the beginning .0 -
Thanks for that, I don't think she knows the answers to my security questions.
But my question is, if you stay logged into a Hotmail account from a laptop, will Hotmail automatically prompt you for the new password if the password is changed?0 -

Yes. Make sure you change the password if you used the same one for other services too.0 -
As others say, change your password, but always change your security questions, just in case, if they had access to the old login, they may have changed your security questions. Also, lastly add a secondary email address in the security section, so if you loose your password hotmail will contact you on this second address.
Once the password and security Qs are changed it will be secure again.
And if you are completely paranoid, set-up a new hotmail address instead.

Not if you change it first and all the security questions.
Isofa said this and this is a good idea but change your password on that too .......
