Back Boiler

I'm hoping someone can give me an idea as to how much it'd cost to replace an old gas back boiler, with a middle-of-the-range combi boiler?
The hot water cylinder will need removing and the boiler fitting in the airing cupboard. It's on an outside wall so not far for the flue to go.
The tanks in the loft merely need disconnecting as they are too big to come down through the hatch.
TRV will need fitting to the existing rads and a new wall stat.
Any ideas? I'm imagining it'll be around the £2k mark but a friend has asked me and I said I'd ask you lot..

He might get it done for that but its a bit tight depending on gas run etc, changing from a BBU to a combi will definitely call for a powerflush or there will almost certainly be problems in future.
I would say without seeing it that up to £2500 for the work to be done to a decent standard would be about right no doubt someone will offer to do it for some magic beans but a cheap install now means expense later!!Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D0 -
seems the independant company price is approx 1500 to 3000 quid depending where you live.
BGs price seems to be more like a telephone number!Get some gorm.0 -
I had BG in today to service my boiler (I have Homecare with them). I have a back boiler and told him we were thinking of changing to a combi. He also recommended a powerflush if we were to get a new boiler. He said you'd get a guarantee for the first year with the new boiler but if something went wrong after that, and we hadn't had a powerflush, we wouldn't be covered under our Homecare policy.0
