E:31/01 Win A Trip To New Zealand (MERGED)

Virgin Radio and Air New Zealand have teamed up to give you the chance of winning a trip to Wellington. You could be living like a star at the Museum Hotel where your spend five nights with a full day Lord of the Rings Tour.

To be in with a chance of winning you need to enter the competition on the right hand side.

Wellington

Wellington is affectionately dubbed ‘Wellywood’, a nod to its burgeoning film industry. Academy award-winning director Peter Jackson lives there, and has had a large part to play.

His blockbusters The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy and King Kong put Wellington on the world map. They also won the city some fans, in the form of international film stars. Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Ian McKellen and Adrien Brody have all been captivated by Wellington’s charm.

It’s going to be a busy year in Wellywood. Director James Cameron is there now, working on sci-fi movie Avatar with Weta Workshop. Filming is about to commence on Peter Jackson’s Lovely Bones, and most of The Dam Busters will also be shot in Wellington.

In recent news, Jackson has also been confirmed to produce The Hobbit, in two movies. Wellington is tipped to be a home base for the action.

  • Five nights in a Premier Studio at Museum Hotel Wellington, including breakfast each morning.
  • One three-course set menu dinner for 2 at the Museum Hotel restaurant.
  • A Middle Earth Tours of Film Locations - Extended Version, for two, run by Flat Earth New Zealand Experiences.

It's a long way to go for just 5 nights! I wonder if they'd let the winner pay for extra nights in the hotel and extend their stay? Can't see any detailed Ts and Cs so will have to ask when I win it :)
