changing supplier and meter readings?? ADVICE needed pls

Hi all,

I'm just in the process of swapping suppliers for my gas from Eon to Npower, (annoyingly I got the "we're swapping you over on XX date" letter from Npower on the day they announced their rate hikes:mad:).
So anyway I get a bill from Eon with an estimated meter reading. This meter reading is considerably lower than the actual meter reading I took recently (but haven't given to Eon yet).

To make it clearer the figures are below:

Oct meter reading: 266

Jan Meter ESTIMATE: 387
Jan Meter READING: 521

Npower have said that they're going to come and take a meter reading in order to kick off my supply with them.
What i want to know is...........will nPower tell Eon what my meter reading is?
Or shall I keep quiet and pay for 387 rather than 521? Although I feel pretty horrible and dishonest by doing that.
Help I need advice!
unless it involves the 4 horsemen I'm sure it's not the end of the world....

If nPower are coming to read the meter they are bound to pass that info onto eon so that eon can bill you up to the changeover date. Make sure that you take a reading yourself on changeover day too.
