I feel sick - Can someone help me please!

I am a newbie to this forum and did a thread yesterday asking for advice on my debts, but I havent had much response from it. Or am I expecting too much off you intelligent folk! Apologies if I am :o

If you are interested in reading my other thread then please do. But right now I have a loan that is due to go out tomorrow and I dont have the money in my bank to cover it.....I feel so sick. I dont have money to get me by until next pay day which is 28th January. What with xmas presents, my sons birthday, mums birthday, friends birthday I am spent out - then after doing that I was informed that I am on half pay at work (off sick with stress/depression).

What do I do? My head is hurting, and I just cant cope. I have just rang the bank and cancelled all my Credit Card Direct Debits. But I dont know why but I never like upsetting the Loan Companies and I struggle on.

Should I ring them today, and ask them to change the date to later in the month nearer pay day?

Please......can some help me!

    HI pb,

Just read through your other thread seems like you've got some great advice so far.

R.e the loan, I would definitely echo others and suggest you contact the company and don't just leave it as I'm sure they would rather you be upfront and open with them.

Is there an option of taking a payment break which might help in the short term? What will happen with payment tomorrow will it be refused by the bank, will you incur any charges?

Do you get any tax credits as well as your child benefit?

Yes I would phone them just to change the date, saying that the current date is inconvenient as you get paid on xx day. They may just change it anyway. If they say no then you may need to have a rethink.

But you have to divide your debts into priority and non priority

    So mortgage/rent
    council tax
    any secured debt
    electricity
    gas
    food are all priorities

any other debts are not priorities and should be paid last.

I would suggest that you talk to CCCS or Payplan today and see what they say. If they suggest a debt management plan (DMP) then you can then write letters to your non priority debtors (send recorded so you know they have received them ) explaining the situation and enclosing a £1 as a token payment until the DMP from either of these free organisations starts to take effect.

That way you will be keeping them informed, and they know you are trying to sort it out. Might get you a bit of leeway.

Can you borrow any money from family just so you can pay things this month?
    best of luck

Yes the bank will refuse - but not sure whether the will charge me because I have started the procedure of claiming my bank charges. Can I still proceed with the claim of bank charges, or did I read somewhere that it has been put on hold?????

I dont get tax credits at the moment, but I have contacted them and waiting for forms to come.

Its on hold, the test case starts today.

It won't help you today, but can you sell things on E-Bay?When is your child allowance due?
