No you can silicone spray it yourself, you buy it in gallon drums and start at the top of the wall and work your way down.
A drum is around 50 quid a time just go to your nearest builders merchants and explain what you are doing they should pont you in the right direction, dont know if they sell smaller amounts as you wont need a great deal.

Best thing for spraying is just to use one of them weed sprayers, them ones that you pump [cant really desrcibe them any better than that.]

If it is geting around your windows, have the windows been masticked correctly is this the stuff you mean?

as you can imagine it is difficult to say without seeing it first hand.

Thanks. Yes, We had the brick work done by builders. They also fitted the windows. But didn't seal them, we done that ourselves with a mastick gun. Perhaps we need to go over it again.

I think if you search the forum theres some advice on determining if it's condensation or penetrating/rising damp - silver foil taped to the wall - water on the side facing the wall means rising or penetrating damp & the side facing the room = condensation.

Thanks Benood, I will have a seach.
  • We used thompsons water seal on the outside of our single block built lean-to and now am mopping up bucketfuls of condensation which was never this bad before we sealed it! Any ideas to help save me this extra job every day?
