UK Hosting

Hi,

I'm looking for a UK host. I don't need much bandwidth or webspace though I would like to host multiple domains under one hosting package. I'm with fasthosts at the minute but you need a hosting package per domain. I've registered a couple of new domains and would like a package than can accommodate all of them. Is this possible and does anyone know a host I can do this with? The domains will have different sites on them.

Thanks

Any particular reason you want a UK host? Of course it may be personal preference, but they aren't normally the cheapest.

Personal preference based on my own experience. I know they are more expensive but I'm happy with that so I'd appreciate UK host suggestions if anyone knows any that match my criteria please post.

    Thanks

Most hosting providers have multiple domain hosting :)

You may also want to have a look over at WebHostingTalk - they have an offers section:
WHT > Advertising Forums > Web Hosting Offers > Shared Hosting.

You could also Search WHT for UK multiple hosting.

Be warned that not all hosts are the same and just because they have a UK customer services address and or phone number doesn't mean the servers are UK based.

    Hope this helps :)

    Try https://www.servage.net

Used them myself for about 6 months, no issues at all. Should meet your requirements.

Thanks. I'll have a look. I want the actual servers to be in the UK not just customer services.

I'm with fasthosts for another domain at the minute and they are good but the no multiple domain thing is a pain.

    Hi,

I'm looking at 1&1 and I cannot find if their servers are in the UK. Anyone know?

Also it states with their basic package that you can have 20 external domains. Does that mean I can have 20 domains registered somewhere hosted under the package?

From doing searches it is pointing me towards reseller hosting which is a little bit more expensive.
  • I own www.starteckonline.com and have servers in the UK (BlueSquare), USA, Holland and Germany. Hosting starts from as little as £6.00 a year and if you use the discount code '15discount' you will get 15% off of any hosting plan (including domain names!).

You have a choice of cPanel or DirectAdmin - please take a look at the website (http://www.starteckonline.com/hosting-standard.shtml) for full details or feel free to email sales@starteckonline.com

Hopefully this will help you in your quest for cheap but reliable UK hosting. For the record, I have owned this business for a number of years and do have a good reputation :p

Why not just register the domains with any domain company (or a UK one if this is your specific requirement), like one and one or 123-reg.co.uk and just use the web and mail forwarding to areas on your space on the one domain you have with webspace in the UK? Much cheaper and more flexible, you can have as many domains as you like and route the traffic without buying extra hosting space for each domain.

Because many hosting plans allow you to host many many domains anyway? It is also far more professional to have a hosted domain than having the domain forward to somewhere else.
