immediate hdtv help needed please

Just sat down to watch Lark rise to Candleford on the BBC,they announced just before it started that it is "shown in HDTV,so switch over now"
I have a hdtv television but not sure how it all works -do I need a hdtv box?! before I can view in this format,or is the tv enough enough & what do I need to do...help

    Talk about panicing - your going to be able to watch it in SD regardless of anything else!

    Yes, you need a HD reciever, ie Sky HD.

    You need Sky HD, or Virgin V+ box which includes HD. Later this year you'll be aboe to get Freesat from the BBC & ITV which will also offer HD.

    I know!!:eek: thought I was missing out on something, after splashing out all that money on a tele, do you know how do I get a hd receiver (fallen out with & cancelled sky in november!!):rolleyes:

    Not strictly accurate, you can get BBC in HD now without a Sky Receiver or Virgin, you just need a Free to Air HD Receiver.
