Hi all,
I want to open a savings account for my niece, who was born yesterday. I don't have a lot to spare, as I am piling all my spare cash into debt, but I'd like to put aside a little bit, maybe £10 a month. Any recommendations for the best option?

You could open a Halifax Childrens Regular saver for her and set up a standing order into it each month.0

Maybe it would be better to deal with your own debts first?0

Will the parents be doing anything with the CTF voucher they will receive? If they open an account with the voucher, would you want to contribute to the account? If you are at a poker game and you cannot figure out who is the patsy then guess what...you're the patsy - Warren Buffet0

And make sure that you get a R85 form from the organisation you choose to save with and get one of the parents to sign it. This is so that the interest will not be taxed.0
