Electricity bill question...
well i've just had a bill through which was from september to january for £179.56, we are on a economy 7 storage heaters, does this sound right for a start? 2 people, work all day, only in in the evenings?
this is the first property we've lived in without our parents (hence silly questions)
anyway, i was supposed to be on direct debit monthly which was a surprise to me, so i called and they started sorting the mistake out, anyway on feb 1st they will take £152, and then another £152 on March 1st, then they said to call to drop the rate to a standard monthly thing...
where does this 2 x paymtents of £152 come from??
thanks

£179.56 seems perfectly reasonable for 3 or 4 months in winter - even a little low. I assume that bill has used actual meter readings and not estimated readings?
From what you have said you would appear to be paying at the cheaper Direct Debit rate.
They have quite reasonably estimated that you will use approx another £125 worth of electricity between now and March so your second payment should mean you are roughly paid up to date.
In March you can start a regular Direct Debit scheme paying probably around £50/£60 a month.0
