Installed New DVD Drives Into Computer - NEED HELP PLEASE

After advice on here to replace my two dvd drives on my computer my dad bought and installed the folowing: -

ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P
ATAPI DVD D DH16D2P

Think they are Liteon's I think.

As he got a special deal do I need to instal drivers/software/firmware as only the drives were sent (Why good price).

    You might need to tweak the BIOS settings but other than that nothing.

    if you already have burning software then the PC should just detect and install the drives and you can burn straight away

  • Just make sure you copy the master/slave jumer settings from the old drives

    Pretty much yes if you have burning software too, its easy to do to fit a drive just a small screw driver is required to secure the drive into its bays for the securing screws .. do you already have the leads required.
    And you may have to check the jumper switch on the back ..read here
