Havnt been since 2006 ,but it was always cheaper to book here rather than wait. They sometimes offer upgrades but not always just depends who youget ,I got one last time because the car they gave me was dirty inside and I refused it . Usually they are quite good I have used Malaga car hire from B/ham all the same most are Nisa car hire.

thanks for that ellie just looking for reassurance i suppose. will probably book over here, the reason i thought i might get an upgrade was because i am going in early feb and thought it might not be too busy the same goes for the sat nav, if i just booked the bog standard car and then over there i might just get lucky with car seats and so on.

Why would you need Sat Nav?, Malaga to Murcia is fairly straightforwards, just keep the sea on your right.. ;)

To be honest, the roads are being updated /changed so frequently in Spain, I doubt that a Sat Nav would ever be able to be fully up to date.
  • I always book my car hire from the UK and usually go through a broker as it works out cheaper. I have recommended on here before www.arrowcars.es and other people appear to like www.doyouspain.com which does not matter as long as the deal is good.

You could try ringing aurigacrown direct who are the car hire company based at the airport and see if you can negotiate a deal after you have quotes from these other companies.

Regarding the time of year, it may not be as quiet for the car hire companies as you might think because you are going when it is high season for the golfers. That would mean that all decent cars will be taken up by a party of four and the little cheap 1 litre cars will be plenty!!
  • Malaga airport has all the usual rental peeps. If you do a bit of a shonky you could book your rental car on the Ryanair web site which then should give you a discount thinking you are travelling on their plane!!!. Holiday Autos is a good one to try also try www.gotospain.co.uk good luck and enjoy
