For Boston area, it's coming in at £310 for 15 days.
This is for an intermediate size car, Automatic, Aircon etc
amd also included the extra insurance stuff like LDW,SLI, U/IMP and all local and state taxes.
It is a Dollar rental car as well...

I don't know if you have booked your tickets yet, but I have found for the past 2 years that if I book both together I save about £400 over the individual costs. There are always 6 of us travelling, but even though I look everywhere it is still cheaper on a fly-drive combo.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Why is dollar better? I have dollar this time instead of Alamo. What's the difference?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Hi Moogie
I used www.americacarhire.co.uk this year and they were excellant.
I put the dates 16th July - 30th July for a Boston airport pickup and they would charge you £276 for a 2 door mid car or £291 for a four door. For the £315 thta airline network quoted you could get a full size rental.
All of their prices include all taxes and insurances - the car hire company varies with destination, when I arrived in Nashville the agent was Alamo as it would be in Boston.
One thing that you should be aware is that the company transacts everything via email, DO NOT be put off by this as they did everything as promiised and on time.
I do not hesitate to recommend this company.
Hope i've helped save you a few quid

p.s they also have a 3 x extra drivers and a tank of gas option for about £25 (i think) which may we worth considering.0 -
Fuel prices are high at the moment. The full tank of fuel option is a good bargain on larger cars. My van held 20 gallons 20 x 1.89 = $37.80. The free tank option was only (£10) $17. So a good deal, and I could bring it back empty. The other way is that they will charge you for a full tank when you pick the car up. That was $58 from one perosn I heard.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! I have been doing the states now for eight years- mostly West Coast and have found booking the airlines and car hire separately is best. Try the Holiday Autos site. I4 is normally £140 per week but various discounts can apply if you are a csma member or work for BT etc. For Motels try TripRewards. :rudolf::doh: Johners0

My heartfelt thanks goes out to moooogie.
He/she posts on here asking for help to save some money. Several people (me included) give up our time, offer help and manage to save him / her a few quid.
And what do we get - absolutely nothing.
No thanks for your help
No it was a good deal but i got better
No wow you've saved me £40 thats great
just plain old b*gger all.
Thanks, please feel free to ask for help or advice again and i'll be at the front of the q.
