My DVD minidisc is'corrupted' -any ideas?

I recently returned from two weeks holiday with it recorded on one disc.
When I tried to transfer it to a DVD it would not transfer.
I spoke to Hitachi who said that the disc must be faulty, I took it to a computer shop who have told me that it runs for about ten minutes then crashes, and that, indeed the disc is corrupted.
It is such a shame to lose all my holiday memories, I know it is probably a lost cause, but is anyone able to suggest anything else I could try?
