BTR 06 from MBNA

I have just received a letter from MBNA telling me that if I phone them up and quote BTR 06 they will give me their latest promotional interest rates. I could just phone up, but I thought I'd ask here first: Has anyone had any experience of this or similar?
PS: Try searching the forums for BTR 06. "The following words were not included because they were too short, BTR and 06" I dunno. Too clever by half.

I got 2.9% for 6 months + BT fee of £70.00. When I said I would go ahead but only if no fee, I was put on hold, and then told this was OK.0

I think BTR 06 refre to 'Balance Transfer'(BTR) for 6 months at a lower promotional rate.Regards

Systemaddict: I thought that. Maybe I'll phone up and quote BTR 240

Two weeks ago a cleared my MBNA outstanding bal (with promo rate 4.9%).
Last week MBNA telephoned and offered me a bal trf rate of 1.9% for 6 months. I said I'll only take it if you increase it to 9 months. They did.
However, I had to pay their trf fee of £50. (which adds equiv. to 1% to the offered rate).Regards

TIGER: I dont think MBNA has ever offered BTR 24.
Why not go higher to BTR 48, 60, or 72 . Let me know if you succeed!!!!Regards

Well done DarkHorse although I thought their fee had just gone up from £35 to £50. I got phoned from India and offered the same (as they had done in writing with the wording "we may charge a fee"). Tried everything to get the fee waived saying "may" could also mean "maybe not if you persist" (got transferred to supervisor who closed with "thank you for your time") without success.
However, as I have several cards administered by MBNA, a few months previously I was offered progressively lower rates down to 0% if I transferred £21,000 with the £50 fee which was a steal as the last cheap statement has just arrived predicting £277 interest next statement if I dont pay it off. Luckily I can as John Lewis, Morgan Stanley & Citbank have offered enough collectively to clear this!
