I've just printed off the RSPB Bird Watch sheet via Adobe Reader and then couldn't rid myself of it, neither could I close down without turning off the power. This isn't the first time that AR caused this problem. What could be wrong?

Ditch Adobe and install Foxit Reader, a lovely piece of software with an extremely small footprint

You should have been able to kill the AcroRd32.exe process in windows task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) without turning off the power!
Not sure what caused your particular problem but the last pdf that I printed (bank account application form) would not print properly until I had turned off the print preview option in the Epson print utility for my printer. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

As espresso stated, there's no need to remove Adobe, but I did because I hate the wretched thing. Five stars to Foxit Reader though: pdfs now open up in three seconds :j:TSo, if I were to download Foxit Reader, should I remove every trace of Adobe first, ie add/removeBLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? Thumbs up to Foxit, also unless you have removed it, Adobe puts itself in the startup programs.
If you uninstall Adobe it will be one less progam running in startup.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Foxit looks interesting. Am I right in thinking that you can edit text in Foxit? Being unable to do so in Adobe is the most annoying of its features.0
