I have a VCR [MATSUI VX1108] for more than 5 years......All of a sudden it started playing a bit!
I am not getting audio but video seems OK. I am about to throw this out but wonder whether it still repairable [DIY??]
Any help?

Yes repairable, possibly just a dirty audio head/loose scart plug or something along the audio path. Matsui brand not the best (curry's own label?). If you are not sure leave it alone (high voltages, etc.) best to offer it on your freecycle group. They a very cheap new.0

Had a similar problem on my Akai VCR, sudden loss of audio. Simply unplugged from mains for 5mins then reconnected and it worked fine.0
