I'm really glad that you all agreed with me about the first house - and confirmed my theory about how it had been done! It's expensive for Halifax, too. I quite like it, although it's above our price range, and there is plenty of space, but I couldn't work out who would go where

It makes sense to me: parent's "suite" upstairs - big master bed plus ensuite, with integrated study/snorer's bedroom/nursery. Very suitable for those who value their privacy.

Downstairs two beds, each with adjacent or ensuite baths for two teenage kids, or one elderly parent plus carer, or one kid plus nanny (baby upstairs) or one kid plus guest room,or one carer plus guest room, both convenient for all the receptions.

Very flexible accommodation, though not conventional, I agree.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

The house highlighted would work well for us as a family too - kids downstairs, us upstairs with study. Probably wouldn't work too well with 3 kids though, unless there was some way to add an extra loo upstairs.

Mind you, this from someone who currently lives in an extended old cottage where the only bathroom upstairs is through the master bedroom and the downstairs "bedroom" (spare room/study) is back down through the living room :o Hey, we like it... (well, we will be making a corridor to the bathroom at some point).

    PWNED!
Shame the snaps don't have dates on. I know my old house is on there when I had a huge garage, I took that down in late 2002 I think.
