My keyboard has been hijacked!

Ok...maybe a bit dramatic, but I switched the pc on this morning and the keyboard keys have all changed. The backspace key is now an equals sign, the letter g is now a k etc etc. Every key is different.
I scanned for nasties but nothing showed so I uninstalled the keyboard and reinstalled using a download from Microsoft website (I also did a windows update too). Nothing has helped, it's still the same.
Suggestions please? I'm at a loss now.

I can't remember if this'll help or not, but have you checked your regional and language options under control panel??0
-
check your regional settings (control panel, keyboard for win 98, control panel, regional and language settings for XP) the keyboard identity may have been changed (kids!) to something else !.0

Go to control panel->regional and language options -> Launguages tab -> then as i guess you are in the UK add the UK layout and delete the Us layout.
borrow another keyboard and test it, or take yours and hook it up to another computer.
It sounds like someone spilled liquid into it, or the chip inside the key board is acting up.0 -
Thanks everyone but I've tried the languages settings too and they all show UK.
Definately no liquid spilled. We have another keyboard in the loft somewhere, will hunt it down later and try it on the pc.0
