Economy 7 - what should we do?

Hi, my dad is with British Gas and on his bills it shows a day rate and night rate. So we believe he is on Economy 7 - which we weren't aware of. I think he was on it when my mum was alive as she has an oxygen machine on 24/7 plus other medical equipment etc. But then she passed away and it was forgotten about.
Anyway, with my dad living only with his partner and not taking advantage of the Economy 7 - doesn't really need to, then can he request to come off that rate?
Not really sure how it all works, I presume he is getting charged a higher day rate when he uses his electricity more - so he would benefit going on tojust a normal rate?
Thanks for any help in advance.

Yes you can request to go on a normal tariff - Click 4 would be cheapest with BG.

IT seems odd your father went onto economy 7 for the oxygen machine. There would be no real benefit for equipment running 24/7.
Economy 7 is usually found in all electric homes with storage heaters and an immersion heater for hot water all storing heat during the seven cheap hours at night.
Does he have gas heating? If so it is a good idea to change.
