Payperdrop help

I want to send a PS3 to someone so I decided to use payperdrop because someone told me it was very good and cheap. I've paid via paypal for Monday collection but the website looks a bit dodgy. Could someone tell me if I should just forget the six quid I paid and go with someone else? I really want it to get there in one piece. What does everyone reccommend?

I thought they stopped trading when DHL dropped them. It does looks like they're back in business with 72hr for £5.99 www.payperdrop.eu

Home-Textiles on eBay offers Parcelforce 48 for £5.99
  • Well I've already paid the money. I guess I'll just see Monday if someone turns up. I don't want it to get nicked or damaged though!
  • i too thought payperdrop had stopped trading, do let us know how you get on, if they are back it may be worth checking out

I suppose it depends on what courier service they use.

Parcel Force are terrible in my area so I would never use Home-Textiles ever again. I'd also think twice about using a 72 hour service considering there are so many 24/48 hour ones available.

Balloon & Gift offer DHL 48 for £6.00
  • Well unfortunately I don't think I can cancel. I live in Southampton and sending the PS3 to London so no idea what the service is like. Not too fussed about the time just so long as they don't lose it.
  • Payperdrop previously used DHL for deliveries, and seemed to be quicker, safer and cheaper than Royal Mail. Now they have parted with DHL, I think the short answer is nobody yet knows how reliable they are.
  • Hmm well I have bought the balloon and gift one as well (not very money conscious but hey at least it is safer probably!) Will have to see which one comes first on Monday!
  • Just had an email from PPD stating they were relaunching their website with the first collections happening tomorrow! The email does mention "WE HAVE ALSO INVESTED HEAVILY IN A STATE OF THE ART TRACKING SYSTEM (TO BE ROLLED OUT OVER JANUARY)" suggesting that their tracking may not be fully operative to begin with and I imagine allowing for teething problems with the new website!

Be interested to see what will be happening with this!

  • thing is paypal wont cover you with seller protection unless they use DHL, Parcelforce, UPS, Fedex or Royal Mail.
