Chocolate tins - can they be recycled?

Options
So we have accumulated a few (ahem :o) big chocolate tins since Christmas... Question is, can they be recycled? I really can't use them around the house anymore (already using a few for all the paints, crayons and other kiddies' bits and bobs) so want them out of the house!!!

Our council have a recycling centre somewhere, and they take scrap metal according to the website. Do Quality Street tins qualify as scrap metal?

Yes, we put ours out for recycling and they were taken. As long as they are metal.

you could put them on freecycle or take to local nursery
  • or reuse them and put more chocolate in, yum
  • Bake a Christmas cake or 3 now wrap in greaseproof paper and twice in foil (I know but it can be re used if your careful & recycled) put in your tins feed once a month with a table spoon of brandy for 6 months.By Dec next year you will have some beautiful rich moist cakes to give as gifts.

You mean with the small tins, like baked beans tins?

That would be excellent as that would mean I don't have to take them anywhere (i.e. drive!) :T

Yes, in with the small tins. They will take it no problem.
