Well
Called halifax again, cause there were questions I wanted to ask
Was tod that no one would come out as ammount owed had been paid
also account had been sent to collections, thats why I recieved the calling card
I will still phone them on monday, but the lesson learned (the hard way)
Is that the debt has to go.......
Im ebaying/stp/working ot etc...I'll do it:j
this has made me more determined, once it has been paid off, Im OFFF
will go to another bank, as this has lead me to have a crap night worrying and letting my pregnancy hormones run riot....
thanks to all who listened and posted
support and words of comfort are powerful

Good for you - in a way they've helped you by spurring you on!!
I feel the same, I do not want to be beholding to any bank or credit card company ever again after this lot has been cleared, which I'm trying to do asapComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

the collections department that they will have referred to would be the bank collections department when an account goes into arrears.
I've not got as far as a debt collector coming out, but if i have missed a payment before they bombard you with letter and phone calls at all times of the day and night then, i'm thinking, letter you to say they have passed the letter on to a collections agency.
The agency then write to you asking you to call them to make a payment and, i would think, if you didn't comply with that THEN someone would call out to your door.
I moved into my house almost 4 years ago and have had countless letters to the previous owners from debt collectors. Out of the approx 20 odd letters i have only had 1 visit from sheriff officers.
Does the calling card state it's for the Halifax card?Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

everything else is paid0 -
I think you should check your credit report anyway.
Do it via Quidco and get 6.50 (i think) for taking a 3 month free trial
You have paid everything that you know about but always best to check for yourself.
I bank with HBOS and they update your credit file on 6th of every month so what ever is on it will be up to date.
I hope you get it all sorted - it's a real worry.Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

i think halifaxs customer services is shocking they tend to trample all over u and i find there tactics a little bullying.
I am having problems with them at the moment and cant wait to pay off my overdraft and leave them.
Quick to take bank charges fees etc but not so quick to help u out if u r having money troubles. And getting to speak to the right people what a nightmare that is.
I know this isnt advice or anything just wanted to let u know that i understand your situation and hope u can get it sorted.
Good luck.!!0 -
