HI
After some advice-just found out my kids break up for almost the whole of Feb, as they are moving into a new school building. Thought this may give us the chance of a bit of sun cheaper as not in the normal holiday time.
We have a very limited budget of around £600. Going would be; me, my o/h. My 14 year old twins a 13 year old and a 3 year old. Dates are flexable between the 7th of Feb and the 25th of Feb.
Been looking but things look very expensive-is there any chance we could get a last minute cancellation being so many of us.
Any advice would be great-thanks
Mish

Have you looked at greatlatedeals yet? Sounds like you need two rooms? Where would youwant to fly from?:wave:0

Don't mind where to as long as it has some sun and stuff for the kids (pool/beach) fly from Manchester ideally but could do liverpool or other North west airports,
will look at that site though I am not great at this internet stuff- thanks0 -
Looks like it's half term, so will be pricey I'm afraid. Hope you find something.:wave:0

Thanks
The kids bbreak up on the 6th- I suppose I could be a bad Mum and take them away a bit earlier.

do you really want sun? if not then you can get to lapland for 6 of you staying in a log cabin for £600 for all of you including flights and transfers - lastminute are doing the deal, just search for ski hols, then put finland in as your destination, then search (don't put any dates in etc) and the £99 per person to yllas will come up0
-
Just looked at this and it does look great-only problem is we would have to travel to London for a 655am flight which is doable if I can sort the dates.
Does anyone know about the other costs- it looks like we would all need ski stuff, have to buy food on sight and do you pay for lifts and passes and things, i am sure you must have to pay for the trips- does anyone know how much it is likely to really cost.

the flights also go from bristol and a few other regonal airports
as for eating - there is one supermarket in yllas - it is very well stocked and just slightly more than UK prices - we spent no more than £100 on food for 4 of us for the week over christmas so it can be done on the cheap
as for clothing - if you are not skiing then just a few thing fleece layers and snow suite outer, boots are important but moon boots will do and they are cheap, hats, gloves etc are also a must
if you want to ski then it is cheaper to get the ski school for £160 for 5 days as this includes all hire and passes for 6 days, you can do trips such as the huskies and reindeer
if you are really interested in going, check out the lapland site on tripadvisor, all the info you need and prices are there and ebay is cheap for second hand ski gear,
it really is a very, very good deal, espeically for a family of 6, even if you don't do any trips due to the cost the children will have a magical time playing in the snow, building snowmen, snowball fights, sledging etc - our kids had a really magical time there, we have booked again for next year it was that great - there is also loads of snow too at the mo0 -
Sorry to hijack the thread, but the Finland option looks great. However, when I put in the finland option for 10/2, the accommodation offered is the Hotel Akas, half board, rooms to be allocated later. Any idea how this compares to the log cabins? My children are 10 and 8, so I don't really want 2 separate hotel rooms. Thanks0
