Hi
I have windows XP & microsoft all in one scurity package, onecare.
My wondows firewall has turned its self off & won't go back on.
Also OneCare won't update, I don't know if thats linked or a seperate issue.
Has there been any automatic updates with glitches in them thats caused similar problems for anyone?

you're better off talking to microsoft support, they are very good and will have probably dealt with this problem several times before.
don't want to frighten you but it does sound as if your pc security may have been compromised.0 -
it dosn't have to be a virus as such, but some viruses and malicious programs will disable the updates in order to remain undetected and disable the firewall to allow remote access to your computer or to install control programsthat turn your computer into a bot that can be used to distibute more viruses or to launch mass dns attacks.
it could be that an update has gone wrong or some other software is conflicting with the firewall/updating software. ms support will have better answers. if they think it will take a while they will call you back to save you the cost of the call.0
