The latest version seems to be 8. That one will run with Vista.
I think that you can get a trial version from here:-http://www.nero.com/eng/nero8-introduction.html

Remember that only a couple of manufactures dvd or cd writers will support this format, Plextor will for sure as i have done this and i think Toshiba not many will be aware of this.

I don't know the manufacturer of my writer, I have a Dell Laptop. It is nearly doing it but it says the disc is not big enough although I keep deleting stuff.

No cd's are what you need to use, but the problem maybe the type manufacturer of your dvd writer that you have, and how do you uncompress the files you are trying to use?

Its a while since i made one of these types of cd's but have a look at these programs
    Karaoke cd+g creator pro
    Karaoke studio builder
Before you make the cd i am sure the two files you probably are trying to use one is probably an mp3 file and the other a raw file you need to make these two into a single bin file to be able to burn as a cd+g.. remember the thing is the manufacturer of your drive must support the cd+g format. Find out which you have to see if you can indeed make these discs
