Ebay Allowing Sale Of Copied Dvd/vcd

I had thought that copies of dvds/videos were prohibited although recently after trying to sell some of my childrens DVD's, I noticed several that clearly stated that they were copies.
All the ones I was selling were original though only reached a low final price as there were over 20 copied dvd's which ended at a similar price as the dvd's I sold.
I complained to ebay twice in the last two weeks giving details of the copied dvd's and sellers although they have all remained on ebay and sellers continue to sell these.

The sale of copied DVD's is prohibited on eBay. Sadly other than report them to eBay there's not much more that you can do, I agree it is a shame as they drive down prices of sellers of genuine goods (the same occurs with clothing) but until eBay pull their finger out then they'll keep on selling.Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0

The trading standards would probably be the best place to report them for IP fraud, there's some reasoning behind that but I can't remember what it is.Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0

Last weekend the European Copyright Directive came into force and it is so over the top it almost bans you from listening to your own CDs!
However it might be the instrument Trading Standards can use to get eBay to actively police these sort of auctions.

Ebay moves very slowly - so do every other enforcement agency. If you want to spend all of your time going after an ever changing wave of these people, then good luck to you. However, there is another way:
Make it a feature of your ads, that the quality is MUCH better than the copies sold by others. Put the down points of BUYING a copy compared to the up points of buying an original. Really play up on people's fears about receiving a rubbish copy that either doesn't play or is poor quality.
You can not fight them all. You just need to be more intelligent; it's all in the advertising.0
