That's true about te Visa... you will need it if you want to go to 'Moses Mountain' etc

Also if you want to travel by car to Raas Mohammed (a national park with coral reefs) then you will need a Visa. The alternative (much reccommended) is to go to Ras mohammed by boat, don't need a visa and it's much more fun.

I was 23 when I went in 2006 with mates so don't think of the excursion as for oldies. It was more loike a party on the boat. People from different cultures including locals. Music, excellent food. pleanty of opportunities to swim/snorkel and you might even get to see dolphins.

Head straight to centre of Naam Bay for everything. Food/Entertainment.

Don't commit yourself to excursions straight away. Get the leaflets with prices on them from all the outlets beforehand and always barter... trust me they always mark-up for a discount. Be happy to walk away.

Don't let anybody sell you tickts to get into Chicago Rock cafe... it's free for tourists (well it was in 2006).

Check out the show at Alif Leila wa Leila it's good.
    Clubs:
    Pascha
    Little Buddha (very classy)
El Fanaa (Beach party but not that brilliant)
    Dolce Vita

For your shopping... touristy tat... ppl say goto Old Sharm market.. it's just a novelty to be honest but worth the visit. Be prepared to haggle (starting at 50% with aim to pay 70%) or just wak away.

Oh and get to know the locals... I'm not just talking about the hotel workers.

The guys at the outdoor sheesha cafes in Naama Bay can get club tickets at discount. Don't get too friendly otherwise you will just feel obliged to buy...

Oh and with the Quad Biking... try and find somebody that will do it in a small group as it will be more fun. We were lucky as There were 3 of us plus one other girl in addition to the guide.

Hit the 'desert' (it's just baron land) in the early hours.

Take your own water with you. They make a stop with bedouins where you have a drink and pay over inflated prices.

Same with boat trip. They include a very good meal but charge extra for water.
