Range rover vogue
Options
My best friend has moved abroad now for a few weeks he called me yesterday and offrered me his 2001 range rover vogue with 43000k on the clock full range rover service history for next to nothing rather than trying to find another buyer.
Ive checked insurance there is not much between that and what im paying now so thats not a problem however ive been told they can drink fuel forget to ask him now cant get hold of him until he calls me back with his new number,
Does anyone have a 2001 vogue and could they let me know how exspensive they are to run ive looked on a few web sites but getting mixed messages

Most people get high teens from a V8 depending on driving style. You can get down to 12ish if you're in a hurry:eek:
Diesel should get you 25mpg , but once again it's a heavy car and if you drive it like you stole it, it will hit you in the pocket.
Expect some fearsome servicing bills from dealers, but better if you can find an independant specialist who know what they're about.0 -
I had a 4.6 and was luck to get over 10mpg in town, 16 mpg elsewhere. A LPG conversion will cost you at least £2k and limit your range to under 200 miles before you will have to stop for more LPG. The air supension, brakes and bearings take a hammering as this is such a heavy fast car. If you are not hand with the internet for fixed and spanner very expensive to get repaired.
Buy it, run it for a few months until you get sick of the petrol expense and then sell it on. You might get lucky and have deprectiation free motoring.
Would I have another? Great ride, up high, all that power and V8 noise, you bet I would. I bought a BMW 530d next which was a LOT faster, smoother and 4x the fuel economy. This signature is not mine!0 -
We had a Range Rover 1999 model for 18 months. In that time we spent over £5000 on repairs - lost around £6000 on part exchange (part of the reason we have so much debt) - and traded it in for a nice reliable Honda Accord Tourer.
Whenever anybody asks us about Range Rovers we say dont get one unless you can afford to run them - they go out and get one - and next thing theyre selling it because of all the problems.
After saying all that though, if I had loadsamoney we would get another one, (newer version)as when they are actually working they are brilliant.0
