Just write out all the bills you pay with your wages. We will tell you if we think the OR may adjust some (though obviously we can't read his mind.)

If you owe nothing to BT then you will have no problems.

    EDIT: CROSSED POSTS.

  • Phew, thats complex:confused: i'll help where i can.
Your foods high. £520 pm, you'll probably need to drop that to £460 pm (£106pw)
Your waters extortionate:eek: is that right or are there arrears?
    Whats the extended warranty on?
    Sorry, whats shopacheck??
If this is for two adults and one child your hairs too high. £5 per child and man, £10 per woman.
    Do you pay for prescription?
Holidays are allowed but not social. Maybe £40 for a holiday pm.
Are you both going BR or just yourself?
sorry lots of questions but its a complicated one.

  • would it not be cheaper to switch to a water meter? I know at the minute they are pushing if you dont see any change after fitting a meter they'll remove within 12mnths

already on a meter, had horrible first bill, and then advised if you were on tax credits you can get the water bill capped and £80 per month is what it is now. Next year might be a bit cheaper as they forgot to send the bill until we had lived here 2 months.

How much debt does your husband owe? It seems like the vast majority is debt in your name so wondering if it really makes sense for him to go BR too (I'm not criticising here, just wondering). I'm trying to go BR myself and as my husband doesn't have much debt - well at least compared to me! We are trying to keep him away from BR because I think it will make our lives easier if one of us is not bankrupt.

yes I agree, most of the debt is in my name, as husband could not get credit! He owes approx £11k, possibly £20 but we are not sure as not heard in six years if Tesco did write his loan off.
I would go bankrupt but, I am the wage earner, a taxi driver, the car is on hp, as far as we can tell bankrupt equals no car, no job. We don't sadly have the marriage to be home 24 7 with each other.
If ichanged the job the public transport starts at 8 in the morning until 6 at night mon- friday. If i went to bus driving I have to be at the depot at 0510 and the last shift finishes at 0140 . I also have to have a job which has some flexibility in case I have to come due to husbands epilepsy.
and heres the big one I went bankrupt many years ago in 1991 whilst married to my EX husband, I am worried the official reciever would penalise me for being bankrupt.( back then you were bankrupt I think for 2 years, I never did apply for a discharge certificate, believe it was automatic and the certificate was something you showed to prove you were free. we had a shop and the recession hit us) But this time i ahve not a clue on bankruptcy as my EX organised the last one. Never thought I would end up here again. All these hours for 7 years fighting to keep going when everything was going wrong, including my clinical depression, the death of my darling dad 2004, grandad 2003. nan 2001.Has it been worth it? Sometime I don't know why I bother going on you only end up dead one day anyway, sorry feeling down
