Renting A Apartment - Credit Check

I am planning to rent a apartment next month, although I am only 17.

The people who I am going to rent the apartment off use lettscheck.com ot check my credit.

On the application form I completed, I put my age as 18 becuase there not going to let me rent it at 17 even though I've make over £2000 per month online.

I have checked Lettscheck.com website but it doesn't say anything about a credit check, but only a credit reference check.

Do you think they will be able to pick up on my age if they do run a full credit check?

I have applied for contract mobile phones by faking my age with some companies and been refused, but o2 did give me one.

I will be 18 in 3 months so I want to know if I should wait untill then (although by that time the drop dead gourgeous apartment I chosen would have gone).

Thanks for reading, hope you can help.

The credit check will verify your age and highlight the discrepancy. The only way I can see around this situation, is to get a guarantor. This means that your parent(s)/guardian will guarantee to pay the rent if you default/scarper. This will involve them being credit searched and signing the rental agreement too.

BTW - I rented a place at 17 and it wasn't a problem, do the agency insit upon you being 18?
