P&O ferry booking

I have just found out through P&O online booking that the nearer the date you want to sail.Lovely little penalty... The more you have to pay, so unless you book over 2 weeks in advance. It is going to cost you mega bucks. Even then you can get 2 different prices for same ferry crossing in same phone call. Let me explain. I did an online quote for a 5 day return crossing Dover/Calais. Price.£80. 2 hrs later, when i had all details, price went up to £100. :mad: Peeved, i phoned booking. They gave me an explanation about pricing plans, So i asked for sailing for the lower price, was given one, but when i asked for a second sailing for friends who were coming with us...Their price was £20 more. I was the "last" booking in the price band...Very convenient.! With NO room for negotiation...Our holiday is now £60 more...So beware.

Next time, go with speed ferries -- prices from pds 19 each way. hey are a private venture and are knocking spots off the big boys. Good luck to them.0
