They offer a free 0844 (local call) number and give a switchboard facility apparently forwarding missed calls and taking messages etc and all for free??? I often work from home and they offer the facility to use switchboard to re-direct the 0844 number to where you want it and also it 'whispers' business call etc before you answer so would be very handy for phone answering when at home (always forget and just say hi lol).
If its true and anyone has good feedback about them please let me know as it sound too good to be true to me and that always raises my guard. Had a search but cant see anything on the forum about them and if its as good as it sounds and its free then I would have expected it to be mentioned here...unless theres a catch I dont know about (oops there goes that suspicious side again :rotfl: )

They do exactly what they say on the tin, however its not a local call.
The 0844 number they allocate you will cost 5p a minute to call 24/7,its not included in exclusive bundles.
People dont like to ring them. www.saynoto0870.com
They make their money from the revenue share on the 0844 Number.0 -
Thank you for your reply - I knew there was a dislike for 0870 calls (I personally dont call them unless I have to) but was unaware of the same feelings for 0844. Our current number is an 0845 one as we started working from home originally and did not want to give out home number incase the business did not work. We are kind of stuck here as paying for a second static phone line at home would mean a different number for home and for office yet we would prefer to use one number and switch it between office and home when we work from there, and only these 0845 and 0870 numbers etc seem to offer this without charging us a small fortune (current number does not switch - just rings at home). Dont want to alienate customers by them thinking we are making money from a phone call (would never ever take an 0870 number). We have post address, email contact, mobile number (some people prefer to text or include call in free mobile bundle) and the 0845 number at home at present but does anyone know of a company that does cheap calls for customers (normal number?) but where I can switch number between locations? (heard bad things about 0800 free numbers so would rather not get one of those)Some People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0

Why not go for an 03 number?
I'll keep looking round incase there is a better deal on 03 numbers as we want to keep costs down for customers but not if it costs us £25 to save about 20 customers 20p - love anything that lowers overal cost to customers (being a bargain hunter myself) but have to balance against costs
Thanks for all help and if anyone knows of a good place to get 03 numbers at a good price please let me know - cheerSome People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0
