There's a coach with National Express at 00:30 but you have to change at Brum spending the best part of 2 hours there.

Otherwise you are pretty much goosed even if you take the Railair bus to Reading & get a train to Manchester from there as the late trains from there don't arrive in Manchester until about 8 in the morning

Depending on how long you are going for you might be better off driving and parking - assuming you have a car.

You could take the train to Leeds, then get a train to Manchester airport, they run quite freqently.

Quote 1. "Is there any way we can get back to Manchester that late. "

Quote 2 "But I'm not going to Manchester."

Quote 3 "I think I'll just have to go to my home in Cardiff "

Well that's perfectly clear - er I think!

Ah! I thought "the last plane to Manchester AIRPORT is 21:00" in your first post had some significance.

    Also the use of "we"
was just a little confusing don't you think? After all it wasn't clear that you lived in Cardiff

As you say not really simple enough for me(at least) to understand.
