I am so hopping mad. I have waited in all day as I have been expecting two deliveries sent by John Lewis and they named the day as being today the 11th. It says the 11th on citylink but I phoned JL and they phoned citylink to have them say that they goods had not even been loaded
Two lots of replacements for part orders of crockery that was utterly smashed on its way to me via citylink
It was citylink who did the same thing re my christmas fresh meat order
Why oh why do people use them
I have made a verbal complaint about citylink to John Lewis and also a written complaint to their CS department. A company is always let down by the weakest link

yeah CITYLINK is horrible order stuff well over £3000 and some were broken as in the cases I bought alot of CDR and DVDR for backups and then to get them broken so we have to put them in other cases and try to get more cases. There was no point to complain because they would have blame us plus the fact of waiting for ages to get them back.
Also Interlink is horrible as way I was waiting in for next day it didnt come until a few days laters and I took time of work I was going to write in big letter F***ing LATE but the driving was mean looking and I didnt want to get hit.0 -

even though you have had 1 bad experience it doesnt mean you need to add it to any old thread0 -
I too have had bad experiences with their customer services. They also have THE MOST annoying phone system. I wanted to phone them up to see if my package was back at the depot (I missed the delivery and wanted to pick it up), however the phone system only had 2 options, 1 to arrange delivery via an automated line, and the other to get opening hours for your local store.
But NO way of speaking to anyone. They are pretty bad.Amo L'Italia0 -

saynoto0870 has the numbers to most depots (at least you aren't paying them via to 0870 number)0 -
I have had problems with John Lewis/City Link recently too. Waited 3 days for a next day delivery. Complained to JL customer services who refunded the delivery charge and eventually gave me £20 compensation. Also sent a letter of complaint to JL directors. Had a very apologetic phone call yesterday to inform me they were crediting my bank account with £100 compensation and that they are sending £100 in gift vouchers to my BF by way of apology (the order was being delivered to his address and he had to take time off to sign for it).
JL are supposedly having a directors meeting next week to discuss these problems so here's hoping they change couriers.
Not at all happy with City Link, I've never had a successful delivery with them, but I can't fault John Lewis for putting things right.0 -
Just before Christmas my son had ordered a load of sweets to be delivered to us at work . A City Link van turned up was in the yard for a while to went out to see what the problem was . The driver was trying to find our parcel in amongst the jumble , boxes and packages were strewn everywhere , lots looking crushed ripped and a few footprints were clearly marked on some packages . The driver couldnt find our box so said he would be back later , it turned up that afternoon , ripped and sweets out of their packets jumbled up in the bottom . I phoned the sweet company and they said they had no end of problems with City Link . A new box of sweets was despatched within 2 days ,( very good service from the sweet co )0

TBH sounds like an inexperienced driver.
very common new start error to pile everything in the van to get out quick.
however an hour spent at the depot planning your route and organising them in the van can save lots more time over the hour at the depot0 -

It begs the question as to why they use them then! It is annoying to be forced to either go without something you want, or subject yourself to incompetence when retailers insist on using carriers who they know are rubbish! Why not use RM - at least they are practiced in the art, and whilst they're not always perfect, they're a darn sight better than any of the couriers I have had to deal with! (Custardy being a prime example!)0
