Hi Guys
I'm off to Las Vegas for a long weekend, leaving weds this week. It's the weekend of 4th July so gonna be manic. Was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to make the best of the non-casino things that Vegas has to offer. We don't want to spend too much.
We quite like the idea of a Helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon - yet its about $250-300 for the trip at most places that we have found.
We are going to see 'O' - the Cirque Du Soleil Show - at the Bellagio - got the cheapest tickets though we have got fairly good ones for the money - it's still quite expensive....
So any Vegas experts out there - any tips will be greatly appreciated...
Cheers

If you log on to https://www.cheapovegas.com they have lots of tips. For example they have a lot of travel reports outlining all the excursions etc.

You will only have to eat twice a day if you choose to eat buffet style, which all the hotels do, it's the done thing.
You pay one price and can stuff your face and I mean STUFF your face with unbelievable choices.
If you have breakfast buffet style, you wont need to eat lunch and there is so much to do during the day you wont think about eating.
Just wondering around the fantastic hotels is good enough and doesn't cost anything at all - especially the Venetian hotel, which is sooooooooo luxurious and amazing to look at the ceilings (like Michaelangelo) and the Gondolas.
It might be expensive to fly to the Grand Canyon but it is a MUST do, one of the most spectacular places on earth.
Have a good time !****************************0 -
breakfast buffer at tha paris hotel, u wont need to eat all day
helicopter over the strip at night, only 35 quid0 -
try looktours.com for trips, I reccomend the ATV tour of the grand canyon (ATV's are what we call quad bikes - SUCH GOOD FUN!!!)if i had known then what i know now0

If you play the slots you can get a free drink from the cocktail waitress, don't forget to tip her though.
Eat at the deli's apart from breakfast.
Stay downtown, it's cheaper.
Look out for coupon books.0 -
Definitely do buffet, much cheaper in comparison with meal prices.
Loads of booklets/ newpapers/ leaflets with discount vouchers in. Worth a look as admission to lots of places is quite reduced if you use them.
Unfortunately i never got free drinks from cocktail waitress, so i was obviously doing something wrong!
Wandering around the hotels is such a big adventure in itself, Aladdin has rain inside, venetian has gondolas, bellagio has fantastic water fountains, lions at mgm- the list goes on.
Just enjoy yourself.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -

hi,
i just thought i would add my own comments on the matter.
I would agree with whats been said above, the buffets really are the way to go, i thought the evening memu at the MGM was the best value at $18 (one of the most expensive) but easily the best.
with regards to the trip to the Grand Canyon, i think its a must if only to say youve done it (i too search around for the best deal and found they were all very similar) around $250 each.
i ended up paying $250 for a helicopter flight to the GC including a stop off for lunch at a working ranch.
if im honest i would recommend the helicopter flight over the strip for around £25 as much better value, but as i mentioned earlier, how often are you going to get the chance to go to the GC ?
finally if i can offer you one piece of advice, its dont take Vegas too seriously, its big brash and make believe, but FUN.
enjoy yourself, im so jealous. No reliance should be placed on the above.0
