Why is it that every month the media go about trying to convince the BOE to lower interest rates.
I may be wrong but I don't think there has ever been a time they have called for an increase. Why is this?
On the times rates have been reduced the newsreaders look happy and chirpy and on the times rates have gone up they look glum and miserable.

For the same reason that people here, generally, only post when a provider has mucked something up, rather than when they've had some good service.

Note also that the news media failed to report yesterday's BofEngland decision to hold rates (no explanation, no analysis, zilch). And yet, if the BofE had lowered rates...BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

which is probably a good thing, especially on the Beeb, cos they'd only wheel out the fool with the scarey eyes and big ears, or even worse the idiot Peston and neither of them have a clue about anything relating to the economy or economics  so no one would be any the wiser !!!'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

It's because of that 'Holy grail' House prices, IMHO they just don't care less about the huge number of savers who income has been reduced.0 -
I have a mortgage, but at the same time i have savings. What annoys me is that if they cut the rate, my mortgage does not go down, but the rate on everyones savings does  . I think the savers are getting a raw deal out of this. :mad:0
