Can I help my brother get out of debt using my good credit record?

Thanks everyone for your advice. I think he has decided he doesn't want me to get a loan for him now, I was nervous about it I have to admit. He's tried to get a consolidation loan but the only one he could get had a stupid APR and he said it was from a company that was being investigated. Now he's decided he must lock himself away for a couple of years as he has no hope of getting a loan and must not live at all until he pays his debts off. It really breaks my heart because he can afford to meet his minimum monthly repayments, it's just that he can't transfer the debt to somewhere cheaper. I honestly don't know what to do now.....

hey Dizz, seen your reply, well perhaps you can get him to join us all here himself and then he can see that we can try and help him too, and he may want to post us his own comments and thoughts and hopefully he will then address all his own issues, you can of course support him, and he may well surprise you and himself that taking the first step will give him confidence,

this also may also give him a bit of learning tools to how to get out of his situation and to learn how not to get to this point again in the future,

i wish id known about this site a few years ago and doing then what im doing now, wouldnt be in my debt positiion now

hope my words are of some comfort, but ive learned sometimes you have to get to the point individually so that you can move postively, your help and support would always be appreciated by him im sure , but the actual realisation of his debts he needs to address himself to himself,

you are a great sister to have and i sometimes wish my sister was more understanding, so big hugs to you both and keep positive,
