My brother has just been allocated his placement to go with the university to have experience for his sports science,he is going to kansas city america

has nayone been there before?any tips of what to do,watch out for,any info would be fantastic,hes 19 so were all very nervous about him going!

Hi, I have never been there but a friend of ours is living there temporarily whilst at college, he has been there a couple of years and his visa runs out in the summer, I will email him and ask him for any advice for you.

West Port is where he'll want to stay, as that is where all the bars restaurants shops are. Better get some good fake id though if he wants to drink, is he going to KC or is it one of the uni towns Lawrence (univ of Kansas) or Manhattan (Kansas State)

Edit: Stayed a year on exchange in Lawrence (45 mins from KC)

Go and watch the Royals. They've been rubbish for years but the rise to the occasion against the better (baseball) teams. Tickets are easy to come by and baseball is a wonderful spectacle - a big part of the American way of life.
