if you are very brave, then dunk it in a bath of water. swish it around for some time. then leave to dry in a warm place for at least a week.
it has a really good chance of working ok again.
all the above is assuming its coke.
if its just water then forget the bath bit!
Was just going to say this.
Take out the batteries and wash it in a bucket or whatever. Leave it to dry out completely, and it will work again. (so long as no power enters it at all. I have know people to do this with all sorts, such as motherboards ect.Rules, Rules, Rules .....0 -
As well as sugar Coke is acidic so you do need to clean it. Obviously take the batteries out but your big problem with water is going to be drying it out completely. I think it’d be tempted to try a couple of cans of non greasy electrical switch cleaner (Maplins or RS). It’s generally plastic safe and is solvent based so evaporates really quickly.
Once all the keys move freely I’d put the batteries and try it. If it doesn’t work it obviously has a manufacturing fault and I’d return it to the shop.0 -
a manufacturing fault? after being doused in coca cola?
:rotfl:Get some gorm.0 -
Take it apart and clean it out. The membrane inside needs to be handled carefully. Been cleaning mine for years. All plastic parts can go in the dishwasher.0

See post #13All plastic parts can go in the dishwasher.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Yes, why not. Once its taken apart, electronics removed, wash in warm soapy water and dry.
A dishwasher does the same. It's only inert plastic material you are cleaning plus it comes out dry and ready for reassembly
Don't you people wash here then? :-)0
