This is something you might not get informed about when you rent a car from certain airports in the USA. It will be charged to your credit card at the end of the rental.Although your car is prepaid in the UK before you go, this is an extra tax only payable in the USA


Customer Facility Charges - CFC's
Dollar Rent a Car currently make Customer Facility Charges in the following depots. These charges are made by all car rental companies in these locations and are usually made for the maintenance of car rental facilities.

Florida
Naples, FL - $ 2.50 per day (up to max of $17.50)
Pensacola - $ 1.05 per day
Fort Myers - $ 1.00 per day
Miami Airport - $ 3.25 per day
Fort Lauderdale Airport - $ 2.75 per day (from 1st September 2004)

California
Oakland - $ 10.00 per rental

Arizona
Phoenix - $ 4.50 per day

Nevada
Reno - $ 2.00 per day
Las Vegas - $ 3.00 per day

These are charged locally and are subject to local taxes.



New Domestic Security Charge
A new domestic security charge of $ 2.00 per day will be payable locally on all rentals for collection at Newark International Airport.
