What happened to the Train Ticket Calculator?

I'm a web developer and computer science graduate and when I saw mention of a 'trainticket calculator' on the cheap train tickets article I thought "hey what a great idea, sounds fun. I wonder if he's thought of making it an open source project."
Then I found this post and saw I wasn't the first to think of it. However, no-one had responded to that post yet.
I really think it should be made into an open source project, as we and I'm sure many other developers would love to contribute. And it seems to me that open source ideology encapsulates many of MoneySavingExpert's principles.
I hope Martin or someone else who knows about this reads this thread *fingers crossed* and gets back to me
Robin.

Hi Robin
Regarding the status of the upcoming free tool - updates (and of course the final release :j) will be included in the Weekly Tips Email.
You may get a better response on the "Site Feedback: Questions & suggestions" board so I'll move this thread over for you
