Accidental Death Insurance

After reading Martin’s “three most important lessons you’ve never been taught” I decided to go on a bit of a financial overhaul. I have already budgeted to a certain degree as I used the Microsoft money program however I wanted to take a look through my bills to see what I could do.
Starting with A (because it’s logical) I though I would practise with an insurance policy that I have. It is for accidental death so basically either I or my partner gets £30,000 payout if either of us die by accident although there are a few terms and conditions, none of them seem unreasonable and this insurance only comes in at £2.98 a month so it isn’t exactly killing me. But as I promised to look at EVERYTHING then I am obliged to look at this.
I just really wanted to get peoples opinion on accidental death insurance in general, is it worth it or is it a waste of £3 a month? Opinions would be appreciated.

Complete waste of money unless you have medical conditions which prevent you getting proper life assurance. You dont say your age but a couple in their 30s can get £100k of life assurnce for £5-£10pm.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such.
