Beware Merciless Travelodge

I'm pretty used to booking stuff on line but this time I got really bitten when I made a mistake
I wanted to book a room with Travelodge for 11th Jan. I got home and at 6.43pm I got onto their site and found a room and booked it. As I pressed the button, I realised my mistake as my eyes focussed on the date 10 Jan! Alarm!
Try to amend the booking online - impossible - not allowed after midday on the day of arrival! (But I don;t want to arrive today)!
Never mind - I'll just call them and ask for it to be altered! Called the hotel - "Call this number..... and they will advise you", they said
Call Central reservations (the number the hotel gave me) - No way. I cannot. (It was like dealing with a computer). Asked for full written details of complaints policy to be sent - "I can't!" was the reply I only have the following options ......
Call hotel and explain that I just need the date changed. "No way!" they said! Unbelieveable.!!!!
Well, if you've read this far you'll probably have the same impression of them as I have. Sure, it was a silly mistake but they are absolutely MERCILESS when it comes to money. So please, just be sure if you decide to book with them.
They've lost my business for life - whilst I like to save a few bob like everyone else, I despise faceless companies that deal with you as a number.

TBH I would just put this down to an expensive mistake. They do not have to change the booking for you. Sorry xGone ... or have I?0
