electric consumption way too much i thinks
hi all,
im currently on an economy 7 key meter (having it removed 25/1 for a standard key meter as never have had storage heaters). ive been v concerned about the consumption, im having to credit meter £90 each month. i read my meter at 6pm last night, and then again at 7.30am this morning. i do have rate 1 and rate 2, the overall amount used between this time was 14.92 units. the immersion goes on when econ 7 kicks in. the night units used was 10. ive been home all day and had tv on computer on, thats it. i then put the washing machine on at 3.30 on 40 wash took 1 and half hrs. at 5 put tumble dryer on for an hour.( i know this is a big eater but i dont have anywhere to hang a lot of stuff so a must this time of year).
6pm checked meter again and used a further 9.96 units.
i live in a small 2 bed house. i dont have a dishwasher. my daughter had a bath this morning but only just under half filled. done a bit of washing up. and i have a 7kw elec shower which hub has one before bed and i have one when i get up, so has been used twice in 24hrs. i have a 2yr old fridge freezer which has a bit of space in it but not excessive. kids have a tv in room which they watch when they go to bed. i have 5 kitchen under counter lighting flourescent bulbs, on most of the day as so dull at the moment. and i use a 40 w lamp in my living room at night. i hope this isnt waffle ive wrote??
anyway, 25 units used, i make that nearly 10k per year:eek: , i read somewhere av is 3300 p/a. help! i am waiting for 4 energy light bulbs. where is it going hey. i have turned off everything on standby now. heat and cook on gas too. forgot to mention that included in amount is a debt repayment of £20. still £70 is busting my bank
