Hotel In Rome?

Hi

I am trying to arrange a weekend away with my husband to Rome in October. I have booked the flights with Ryanair and am now arranging accomodation. I saw a recommendation on the chat forum for the Marcella Royal Hotel in Rome, and TRIP ADVISOR gave it great reviews. However, it seems to be full the weekend we are going, as all the hotel booking sites say there are no vacancies.
Can anyone recommend another good hotel, not too expensive, but not looking neccessarily for a cheap place either. It is more important that it is worth the money.
Also any good hotel booking websites? I have never booked though them before and am a little hesitant.

Thanks for any help.
`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.

We loved the Mercanate Palace Hotel. Very well situated and with a brilliant roof garden for breakfast.

It overlooks Santa Maria Maggiore and was very good value for money.

    Have a great time.

(Whatever you do ignore the idiots who suggest you eat in Macdonalds when in Rome!)

This place is among the very best. It is classed as a Bed & Breakfast, but the breakfast, tea and coffee are available all day!!!

You can see a number of reviews for it, including mine, here:

Additionally, just round the corner, literally 30 seconds away, is a great and reasonably priced restaurant 'Trattoria Abruzze'. It is always full of locals (a good sign in my opinion!). It looks like there is only one table from outside, but it is quite large once they take you through!

If you PM me I can give you plenty of info about Rome - we love it and wish we could visit more often.

    Have a good time.

I totally agree about 66 Imperial inn. A tiny place - more like an apartment with only 5 bedrooms - but really elegant and central. Outstanding value when I stayed there just after it opened.

However it is not a hotel as such - no facilities to speak of - but ideal if you want a comfortable place to sleep with small en suite bathroom and staff are most helpful.
