I've a netgear pcmcia card in my old toshiba 4300 which I bought from PC world when they had them on offer a while back for £9.95 and it works no problem with my Belkin wireless network.
However, my new Dell with a 1370 mini pci card will not connect to my secure network and even when using my belkin wireless usb dongle the wireless network is shakey with it being very tempremental with it dropping the connection all the time.Welcome, rogerramjet.

I use the Belkin Router and wireless adapter for my second pc when playing network games, and have no problems at all.
I sent a big file to my daughter’s computer and it took less time sending it than burning the file to a disk.
When I’m playing battlefield with my kids it never slows down or stops, it says signal strength 80mbs and I think that’s really good.
If I move my second computer to face the wall of the transmitter? The signal strength will be even stronger!
I like Belkin and had my doubts? But I read a few reviews and they said when Belkin first started? Their routers had problems? But not anymore and are a really good buy.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
so shall i buy this card for my laptop will it work in hot spots areas? Thats all i want it for?0

I have that card, and I also have a e6100 laptop - they work fine together. Yes, it will work in hotspot areas.
Just be aware that many hotspots are not free... you need to register to use them, and pay a subscription (BT Openzone is the biggest provider). Airports, stations etc usually fall into this category. Depends where you are really.... if you're in London you'll find plenty of hotspots around that you can use. Unfortunately, you'll also find many people who will mug you for your laptop....
