Do British Gas price match?
I will start off by saying I don't know much about gas/elec at all, so I apologise if this sounds a dumb question.
I currently pay British Gas £24 electric per month and £36 gas per month (I pay more gas because I am paying a debt off when I first moved it - in debt by £56 gas but in creit by £66 elec)
BG wrote to me saying they are reducing my elec direct debit from £24 to £11 which is really really great but it got me thinking. So I had a look on uswitch and with my current rates I am paying I can save £141 per year, £11 per month which is a huge saving to me (single mum) and would buy a pack of nappies a month!
Question is, I am happy with British Gas, it all runs smoothly, I've not had any problems (I touch wood) my house is warm and everything works!
Would they match the price offered by Scottish Power? I don't want to leave them, but if it means saving money...I will!

Don't get mixed up between the price and what you pay each month.
Compare the price per kWh. This is based on your plan (DD vs online vs quarterly etc)
There are plenty of threads here with people who swapped and went with the DD suggested and ended up in debt. Some see this as an interest free loan, but be prepared to pay it back.
Bottom line, don't trust pound values from switching sites, use the price per kWh and your usage in kWh.0 -
As Swanjon states, putting how much you pay each month into uswitch is absolutely pointless; and the results you get are meaningless.0
