Laptop specification help

Looking for some help please!

Basicially require a laptop for surfing the net, sending e-mails, iTunes, uploading photos, word processing etc

What do the specifications look like to you below for what I require the laptop for? Given the laptop is a Acer and will be £269 once my student discount card has been used and Quidco cashback comes thorugh.

To me it seems for £269 it will be a pretty decent deal and do the job, but I would like some input from the experts if possible?!

Thanks in advance.

I think it is a little low on memory. In my experience, when I have had computer problems it has been the result of lack of RAM.

And see if you can get it with XP installed, rather than Vista. Vista requires quite a lot of computing power, and so is not really appropriate for a fairly low-spec system.

Disclaimer: I really don't know very much, but at least you have an opinion with which you can disagree.

    Thanks for quick replies.

Is it relatively easy to uninstall Vista and then install XP? Plus will I have the Vista license for the future if I wish to install it again?

    Thanks again.

Thanks for that link, but for a extra £58 more I'm not sure its worth it for what the laptop will be used for- even though the Dell is clearly a better laptop.

    Decisions, decisions!!!

I see your point though I actually said 'but for a extra £58 more I'm not sure its worth it for what the laptop will be used for' i.e. the key here being what the laptop will be used for.

    Thanks nevertheless.
